Ron Savilla has been an outdoorsman for many years.
Outings are an integral part of the Sierra Club, and the West Virginia Chapter has been without an Outings leader for over a year.
Ron Savilla is our new Outings chairman. Ron as been an avid outdoorsman for many years. He grew up in West Virginia but moved away after college. In October, Ron moved back to West Virginia from New York state. He has been involved with the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Boy Scouts in the past, and currently is an EMT with Jan-Care Ambulance in Huntington, WV. Ron is attending graduate school seeking a Masters in Business Administration with a specialization in Health Care Management.
Our national organization is currently making changes to the requirements for trip leaders who lead Sierra Club Outings. You will be informed of the changes in a future newsletter once they are finalized. These will more than likely require first aid training.
