West Virginians have the highest risk of dying from heart disease and lung cancer caused by power plant pollution compared to all the other states in the U.S.
The Mon Valley Clean Air Coalition continues to meet regularly and work on the issues of air pollution in this region. Duane Nichols is the convenor currently and can be reached at duane330@aol.com.
We have created committees including Advisory, Outreach/Education/Media, Speakers, CALP, and Monitoring and Research. Jim Kotcon volunteered to present a workshop on understanding air quality on June 19th. (What a way to spend Fathers Day!)
Jonathan Rosenbaum created a new website at http://monvalleycleanair.org/ . The website includes links to sources of information about air pollution and groups that are working to clean the air. We welcome your participation in safeguarding our health and the health of our world.
