Campaign begins to add Morgantown to the "Cool Cities" list
The Sierra Club's Cool Cities Campaign is asking local municipalities to sign on to the U. S. Mayor's Climate Protection Agreement. This would pledge the city to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2012. Over 200 cities across the US have already taken the pledge, and many are well on their way to meeting this goal through energy conservation measures, more fuel-efficient vehicles, and use of renewable energy sources. The Monongahela Group of Sierra Club is seeking to have Morgantown become the first "Cool City" in West Virginia. Contact Jim Kotcon (594-3322) to join the Campaign.
