Chapter Political Committee recommends Sierra Club political endorsements and raises money for local political campaigns
West Virginia Sierra Club members have contributed $1716 to the Political Action Committee for the 2006 election. We received donations from 56 members, ranging from $10 to $100. A truly grassroots effort! The Political Committee was able to donate $50 to each of the 34 candidates that were endorsed by the West Virginia Sierra Club.
Sierra Club is one of only two environmental organizations in West Virginia that endorses candidates. Our endorsement and financial donations let the candidates know that their efforts are appreciated by the environmental community. We have already received several Thank You notes from candidates. “I am so proud to have your endorsement and I appreciate the donation.” “My sincere thanks for the Sierra Club endorsement and support.” “Thank you for your contribution and trust in me.”
The Political Committee thanks everyone who made a donation, put a sign in their yard or got out and voted.
